Automobiles in German City Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Roughly 50 vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Police say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they reported.

Police then located many other smeared automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police state initial examinations show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; investigators are currently not aware of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials said they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the public for information.

An important representative stated the incident made him without words and required to be resolved rapidly.

"This act hits the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a gunman targeting people of immigrant origin in 2020.
