19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid period, managing just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with former mentor his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from spring of that year.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has won 21 victories at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.
His retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on court had caused observers to question if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five games to go ahead.
Both players exchanged breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a third set.
He rescued four early-game chances in a close deciding set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, he earned the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
