I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
